Let us take this two-week discussion further before we close that topic and move to another life's related issue.

This article was a devotional I read from UCB platforms many months ago. However, it seems so relevant at all times and for all ages. This was an analysis of the Purpose Driven Life of one who lived a super very successful life on earth and whose life afterwards is still potently making serious impact.

We want our lives to be impactful, even many years after we have passed through a place. This is possible only if we discover and live our purpose.

So come with me in sharing your views and more lessons we can draw from here.

Know your life’s purpose

‘For this cause I was born.’
John 18:37 NKJV

Standing before Pilate, Jesus said, ‘For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.’ Jesus knew why He was born and what He was called to do, and He focused on it like a laser. And you are called to follow in His footsteps (see 1 Peter 2:21). There are three types of people: 1) Those with no life purpose. They are drifters, aimlessly cruising through life. They go to school, get a job, switch jobs, find a spouse, switch spouses, move from house to house and place to place, retire, and eventually die. They don’t really live; they just exist. 2) Those who have the wrong life purpose. They may be super achievers, people who have climbed the ladders of financial, political, and social success only to find their ladder was leaning against the wrong wall. They either discovered too late or never realised that they missed a purposeful life that positively influenced others. 3) Those who have the right life purpose. They know why they were created. They know why God put them on this earth, and they are all about fulfilling that purpose. That is the life that brings a smile to the face of God. That is success that lasts. It has nothing to do with popularity, power, or possessions. It has everything to do with purpose, because that is the only thing that brings a God-given assurance of success. So do you know your life’s purpose? If not, ask God and He will reveal it to you.

What I did was to play back my life and check the following:

WHAT IS MY LIFE'S PURPOSE?

CAN I PIN IT DOWN FROM MY PAST LIFE UP TILL NOW?

 AM I STILL ON FOCUS?

So what will be your responses too? and

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO REALLY DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE?

  1. WHAT IS MY LIFE'S PURPOSE? I'm still praying to know it because right now I feel like I am the 1st type of person who is simply just existing but also with the 2nd person, aiming for success and I'm not sure if I'm leaning on the right wall as I climb up my ladder.

CAN I PIN IT DOWN FROM MY PAST LIFE UP TILL NOW? I don't think so...

AM I STILL ON FOCUS? I am starting to understand and I keep praying that it is the will of God for me.

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO REALLY DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE? I think the most important way to discover it is by praying and talking to God. there might be other ways but this is the main one.

    1. I suggest you work closely with God and someone who you think understand and you owe a lot of respect to mentor you on how to understand the voice and ways of God. God has a wonderful future and plans for you. Follow us always here you will learn from others how they connect with God and in a while you will have a good story to share.

  2. To discover your life's purpose, you have to go to the Creator; the one who made you and ask Him for the manual of your life. This way you can follow the instructions to the detail and not make wrong life changing decisions. That Creator is God.

We might be faced with different setbacks in our lives that will make us question God's

    1. *God's direction in our lives, but we should be determined in our hearts to follow through to the end.

God will not lead us in a path that leads to destruction, neither will He ignore us when we ask Him for help. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

God will not lead us to a purposeless life of we commit all of our life to Him.

    2. Thank you. I ask you a question, does God tell us what course of study we should take or which type of job? These are not written clearly as you said in the Bible, I am sure there is a way we can identify the pathway of our lives.

    3. God does tell us these things. The way we can be sure is by asking Him first of all for directions in what path to take and we have to also be very specific in our prayers that He should guide us in the path He wants for us. When we pray a prayer like this, there is definitely something that happens, either we a moved away from a path that's wrong for us or we come across someone who will lead us to the right path for us, but He definitely answers a prayer like that and we see the definite change in our careers/paths. We should have a very open mind with these types of prayer points because we can easily be deceived by our feelings or emotions towards a particular path and think that's where God is leading us to.

  3. To discover God's purpose for your life, you have to cry out to God who fulfills his purpose for us(psalm 57.2) This is the key in understanding God's purpose for our lives. You also have to embed yourself in God's word by studying the Bible daily. God sometimes puts burdens in our hearts to fulfil. Answering this call or burden is God's purpose for our lives.

  4. Do you know your life’s purpose?
This question is very thought provoking. Its often not deliberately thought through ones entire life but limited to some specific instance/occasion in ones life.

It is indeed a deep question which one can find the right answer to in prayer and consecration. One needs God's grace and self determination to deliberately follow through His revelations in achieving that life purpose as one lives day to day.

    1. Two key words I identify here are: determination and delibrately. We need to use those to unlock our purpose driven door to success. Thank you.

  5. WHAT IS MY LIFE'S PURPOSE?
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecc 12:13).
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen 1:28)
Our paths may be varied but it comes down to these fundamental pre-set purposes as captured in the word of God.

CAN I PIN IT DOWN FROM MY PAST LIFE UP TILL NOW? AM I STILL ON FOCUS?
There has been a sustained trajectory towards the goal and ,as with all imperfect men, it has not been without its rough patches. It is important to undertake a self reflection every now and then in order to stay on course.

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO REALLY DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE?
Acquainting oneself with the One who makes Life and Purpose and everything in between is an assured way of really finding out how to live on this blue ball we call home.

    1. The word of God is our road map, the GPS to show us the pathway to follow without missing time, action and destination of the purpose. Thank you. Read, trust, and use the WORD.

  6. WHAT IS MY LIFE'S PURPOSE?
As a Christian, my life's purpose is to bring pleasure to God. This is quite general, but as I relate closely with God daily, the specifics become revealed to me. One of the specifics that I have come to know is that as a wife, I am meant to be a 'help meet' for my husband and anything that would not make that possible is not for me, no matter how alluring it may be.

CAN I PIN IT DOWN FROM MY PAST LIFE UP TILL NOW?
I wish I could say yes, but unfortunately I don't think so.

    AM I STILL ON FOCUS
As I grow in my relationship with God, I get to understand better what my purpose in life is. I am praying God to give me the grace to live in line with His purpose for me.

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO REALLY DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE
God created everyone of us with a purpose in mind. So if we must discover our purpose, we need to go to Him in prayer, consecration and the study of His Word. This I feel is the only way we can discover our purpose.

    1. Thank you so much. I enjoyed the focus on the specifics of God's purpose. God does not stop on showing the WHAT, He will also show the WHERE, WHEN and HOW. This is such a clear formula to wait to recieve these details.

  7. "This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise" Isaiah 43:21.
This is what I considered my life's purpose - showing forth the praises of God in all facet of life.
I found this purpose about 1.5 decades ago when I took a U-turn from the pathway of sin and chose the way of righteousness.
However, there are specific assignments for every part of Christ's body which can only be fulfilled if we are properly planted. May the Lord plant us where we should be.
Any other way to discover life's purpose? There's no other way aside turning to the manual of life (the Bible) and consulting the manufacturer himself.

    1. God's own manual is complete for us as He is the manufacturer, He has intention for what he created. As He said in Jeremaih, he is the porter and we are the clay and clay can not ask why did you mould me like this ir that, the proter has a mind on the purpose he wanted for the clay. May we realise this. Thank you Ola.

  8. My Life purpose is very clear to me, it is to serve the Almighty God here on earth through the Lord Jesus Christ. This has been the only thing that gives me true joy.

Can I pin it down from the past, yes I can; going back to infancy, both Family members and friends of the family told me what I said I want to be not knowing how it will be and over the years I have been transformed into exactly what I said. So everyone should take a trip to the past and check what resonates with them, what was that thing that gave you joy and peace of mind when you thought about it?

Am I still on focus? Yes, when you have found your purpose genuinely you cannot deviate because that is what gives you the kick in life.

It is important after praying to really look inward at the signs God has been giving you for a long time in terms of your passion. When you weigh this against the word of God and it is in line with the manual (the Bible) you are good to go.
