What do you think about and say to yourself?
Do you talk yourself down? Are you in the association of I cannot's...? Excusers…
Are you always telling
yourself things you cannot do?
Or:
You tell yourself give
me this mountain? You say I am a winner?
You say I shall live…
What do you say to
yourself? What do you think about yourself?
“For as he
thinks in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23 verse 7 NKJV
“Death and
life are in the power of the tongue,…”
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV
“You will
become what you think about most; your success or failure in anything, large or
small will depend on your programming—what you accept from others, and what
you say when you talk to yourself. It is no longer a success theory; it is a
simple, but powerful, fact. Neither luck nor desire has the slightest thing to
do with it. It makes no difference whether consciously accept it or not. The
brain simply believes what you tell it most. And what you tell it about you, it
will create. It has no choice.” ― What To Say When You Talk To Your
Self
Remember what and how
God made you?
Can you be deliberate about
what you think about yourself? How about you looking towards God’s strength and
economy and not your strength and economy
in every situation. "I
can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Philippians
4:13kjv.
Therefore, what will
you be telling yourself about yourself from now…
How would you
henceforth approach your inner self?
Encourage us with your decisions and steps going forward.
What you think about yourself matters alot, nobody can love you better than your self, you are your own happiness and it doesn't rest with another, what you believe about yourself, is what you project and others have no choice but to believe it with you, so be wise
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have put this any better. True gems right here!
DeleteThank you Josaih. We always love your insight.
DeleteResponfing to the comment below, I dont know why the space juggle out. Never give up on your vision. It may appear far and or seems hard to get by, But Habakkuk said the vision is for an appointed time. When the time would come we never know. Just keep on with the dreams. I am happy with this example, Femi. It is a perfect one for our lives.
DeleteO yes, they can, those who feel they can! I remember then, as a science student, I didn't pass any of the core science subjects in my first O level exams but did very well in other subjects and I was told science was not meant for me but with God on my side, I refused to give up, I did and I don't regret it! Thank you for this sir.
ReplyDeleteDetermination brings the impossible possible with the help of God. If you say to yourself I am successful, success is yours all the way
DeleteExacctly. It is all from within you and it manifests. Even though there ay be challlenges. The inner eyes and man will see the victory. Thank you and see this is working for you.
DeleteThis reminds me of a fixed and growth mindset. We can limit ourselves physically with our mind. Our kind is a powerful and as we think that is how it will be so positive thinking and having a growth mindset instead of looking down at ourselves is worth a lot!
ReplyDeleteThe paradigm you reference here is so true and the limitation is not only to our physical but in all aspect of life. We need to grow in our mind and thoughts always. Thanks for bringin in the concept.
DeleteThere was a time in my life when I use to think that just by listening or reading the word of God alone without the involvement of my thoughts can actually get me all I needed in life, but I was completely wrong. Putting the word of God to use in our life is by repeated proclamation and strong believe on that same word. Our thoughts goes a long way in making us who we are. If you keep listening or reading the word of God everyday of your life without a positive mindsets towards the same word, results will always be very far from you. Even if anyone speaks a negative word to you, and you refuse not to allow the word have effect in you, rather you choose to use a verse of the scripture to erase the negativity. I bet you, non of those negative word will ever have effect on you. Think right so you can live right.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct. The word of God is s lsmp to our feet and our guide. It shows we must walk. Which means it is the guide to our thoughts. We must think, meditate and use it, We need it to form the basis of our thoughts and which we lead us in our actions. One great assest in the word of God is that it never brings negative it builds postive mindset which I call faith here which conquers all challenges. It is suffice to say, hear and study and bring the word to practice, then it brings the benefits to us. Thank you for this.
DeleteSurely I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. There is power in positive thinking and words of affirmation. Self love and self respect is one of the first step to being loved and loving others. When you think positive of yourself, it give you inner joy and peace, which reflect in the things you do and how you relate with others. It is good to have daily, good and happy discussion with oneself.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. If you dont tell your brain what victory you have in ahead, another discouraging voice will overturn and will drive the God given faith off your way/mind. One good thing is to always start your day with a quiet time of great devotion with God who sharpens your faith and vision. He makes you to see how big is God and not your chanllenges. There you make your ways prosperous. Your inner man is built on success. Thanks for your insight Bims. Looking forward to reading more from you.
DeleteThis reminds me that no matter how difficult things are, we should be faithful to God and those who always support us. It will be tough but there will be a way. Often time when facing an obstacle, my mind will constantly imagine about the negative outcomes. And it drains my energy before I start getting around the solving for solutions. Things I worried seems impossible to overcome. The article reminds me what I should be focusing instead of blocking myself from alternative options. Be true and trust in God, yourself and others. Acknowledge that I can overcome it. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYes, God will always make a way. The mountain is like a piece of feather before us when we have God inside us. We will never chicken out when confronted by any task. Because we know that greater is He that is in us than he that is in all those tasks. We will surely have more victories when we believe in our God given ability and strength. We as human being we have that potential hidden in us, we just need to activate it by saying within us that I WILL...
DeleteIn everything i face in this life, i have learned to hold on to the Words of this song which is titled " I just keep trusting the Lord".
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. We should always have an anchor that is very reliable and sure. It makes us wadd off negative thoughts that can build down to unfulifiled life. Anchor keeps us from sinking with this life's challenges. Thank you for the short and powerful contributions.
DeleteOur mindset is important in our life journey, there really is power in the tongue. What we say of ourselves affects us as an individual. Being able to think positively and have a mind of determination in the face of difficulties is important. Recently the saying that I have been remembering is "God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldier". He knows our strength and won't give us more than we can handle, so we should just trust God and move with he faith that we will over come and we will be surprised by how much we can accomplish.
ReplyDeleteVery true. We should always see whatever task ahead of us as a go to finish, since it is a measure of our inner capacity and potentials. If we create that mindset within us, we are sure to see ourselves going over to the top of where God has designed for us. We are wonderfully made for the praise and glory of God and so shall be our testimonies. Thank you very insightful.
DeleteThe only person in this world that can stop you from achieving what you want to achieve is you. If you believe in yourself and trust in yourself, you are capable of doing great things with out any objections. Be positive and think positively of yourself.
ReplyDeletePerfect. Say to yourself everymoring I can do all things through Christ that will give me strength. You will not be able to stop yourself not even some one else from getting to the heights that God has designed for you. I enjoy this. Thank you.
DeleteTalk about being your own enemy. When we talk ourself down, we are literally destroying ourselves from within , which is much more destructive than what anyone else can do to us. Let's be more kind and nice to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteBasically, you say one can be his own enemy. we should not be. We should fight and win the little spirit of fear in us that is making loud noise about our thin weakness. Whne the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and sound mind. This should propel us to speak of faith and positive into our lives and all those I can not will disappear. YOU CAN DO IT. Thank you Toluwani. I always enjoy your perspectives.
DeleteYes this was a really productive and powerful message! By the grace of God, we as Christians are much more powerful than any thing in the planet because we are children of a mighty God. So, positivity is meant to be our watchword. Negative self-talk makes you lose all your self esteem in an instant without anyone's help, and then singles you out because you wouldn't love to be around people because you feel that "you aren't good enough"
